Vision and Purpose

“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” —Proverbs 19:18

The purpose of Christian Life Assembly is to impact our world with the life-changing love of Jesus Christ, helping people discover their destiny, and encouraging each other on our journey of faith. To fulfill this purpose, small groups will become our way of doing ministry. The pattern we follow is found in the church pictured in Acts 2:42-47:

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

This passage pictures a church with community at its very core. They were passionately concerned about one another and those outside the family of God. People were being added regularly. God's presence was evident. They were meeting regularly both in the temple (large group settings) and from house to house (small group settings). They were “doing life together!”

We are building the structure of Christian Life Assembly on these two “pillars” - large groups and small groups. Small groups are essential in carrying out our overall mission. The world we live in has a desperate need to see authentic Christian community in action. We firmly believe this can happen today in the 21st century. You can be a part of this dream by leading a life-giving small group.
