Podcasting is a form of audio broadcasting via the Internet. The reason it has become linked with the iPod in name is because people download podcasts (audio shows) to listen to on their iPods. However, you don't have to listen to podcasts on an iPod you can use your computer with some music software such as Windows Media Player, or other portable music players. It really doesn't matter, as long as you have some way to play music on your computer you will be able to listen to the podcasts.
What's a podcast?
Audio and/or Video files automatically delivered to you to play on your computer, iPod, MP3 player or to burn to CD.
How do I get started?
Your mp3 player has built-in software that allows you to download podcasts. You can set it up for automatic downloads or you can do it manually.
Do I need an iPod or mp3 player to listen to a podcast?
Nope. You can download itunes for free and listen to podcasts on your computer or burn them to a CD.

Can I burn a CD of the Podcast?
As long as it’s not for resale or profit, you can burn the Podcast to a CD.
