Blood Drive

CLA Blood Donors are the Best!

Our Annual Blood Drive on March 21, 2010 was a huge success! We registered 70 people and collected 58 pints of blood. The most ever!! Thank you all so very  much. Just think of the lives that you have saved with your donation. We had several very brave, first time donors who did great. Did you know that you can donate blood every 56 days or two months? When you donate your replacing units of blood that have already been used. Information on the local donor centers is available at the “Event Informational” kiosk in the main lobby. Contact Liz Fite, RN, Health Ministry Director at 635-7234 or lfite@christian-life.com also check out www.cpbb.org web site.

One of the many benefits of being a member of Christian Life Assembly, is that you are automatically enrolled in our Group Blood Assurance Plan. This means that you become part of a continuing system that assures that blood will be available for you and your immediate and extended family (including parents, grandparents, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews and in-laws), if needed. If you or a family member needs blood please make sure that the hospital is aware that you are a member of CLA’s group blood assurance plan. You are NOT supposed to billed for transfusions only for the administration and supplies needed to administer the blood. When an enrolled group meets an annual donation goal of eighteen percent of their family units, they are ensured that credits will be available for transfer to any participating hospital in the United States.

Did you know…?

  1. Forty-four percent of the population are eligible to donate but only about seven percent do

  4. The average male has between ten and twelve pints; whereas a female has between eight and ten pints of blood You are able to donate blood every eight weeks
  5. There is no substitute for human blood. Donors are the only source.
  6. Every three seconds someone somewhere needs blood. Chances are you won't know this person, but tomorrow, it could be your friend, your neighbor, or even a family member.
